December IPSY Glam Bag Review

Updated: Feb 6, 2020

IPSY is a monthly cosmetics subscription bag. It's most basic plan, the Glam Bag, is $12 per month for 5+ sample sized products. You can also get the Plus or Ultimate subscriptions, which cost more, but you'll get more value out of it.

You can get it for $20. The packaging for this brush was amazing. It came in a little, biodegradable satchel, for lack of a better word. Packet? The handle is also made out of biodegradable material, but it still felt amazing and lightweight without feeling cheap. The brush was really soft and just the right size and consistency to give a nice pop of highlighter.

As of writing, this product is sold out but is normally available for $19.99. It was a kind of subtle highlight; we could only see it on ourselves at certain angles, and at other angles you could barely tell we were wearing highlighter. However, that also means that you can easily blend it and build up to a stronger highlight.

We weren't really a fan of the shade. It was a little too yellow for our complexion. None of us would likely buy this product. M doesn't really wear highlighter, and N and D have highlighters that they really like and plan to stick with. That being said, the product has a really good range of available shades and the fact that they are currently sold out surely says something about the product.

This product costs $26 for 6.78 oz. D had gotten this from IPSY like a year ago and absolutely loved it. She loved to just put the bottle in her bag 🎒 to use on the go, in the dead of winter or the heat of summer.

This leave-in conditioner is a great lightweight solution to dry or frizzy hair. Although you are supposed to apply it while your hair is still damp, we saw results after using it in completely dry hair. M wasn't the biggest fan of it; she tends to have problems with volume, so she didn't like how her hair looked flatter after applying. N and D both thought she looked great, but hey, who listens to us?

This costs $15 for the travel size and $29 for the full size.

It was shockingly pigmented. D meant to only put on a little, and it was really true to color on her basically bare face. It was a little less muted on M and a bit easier to blend on her since she was already wearing foundation.

IPSY really likes this brand and is always sending samples to their subscribers, and for good reason. TARTE's products are reliably good. You can't really go wrong with at least trying it to see if it works for you.

This product is from a Korean company, and it was really interesting since it's only available to preorder as of writing this for $14.

We were kind of shocked at first at how pigmented the pink was, but N explained that it was because of whatever they use to balance the pH levels on your lips. Which D thought was amazing and was glad to have finally tried something like this. Nerd.

It made our lips feel so soft without feeling oily to the point of discomfort. Especially during these winter months when it feels like your lips are just perpetually chapped ☃, lip care is super important. Even days later, we still remarked about how much softer our lips felt.

If you are interested in trying IPSY for yourself, here's my referral link - going through this link rather than just Googling IPSY helps support this blog and all of my other posts.
