Lip Monthly Subscription Review ~ December 2019

Lip Monthly costs $12.95 per month for $50+ worth of full size products. You also get rewards for purchases you make on their website and referrals. They ship to the US, Canada, the UK, and many other countries and are open to adding more. Cancelling in case of whatever reason is super easy and can be done online. They are always running promotions where you can get your first bag for a discounted price or even free! 💸 And even if they aren't, if you subscribe through this link, you can get $5 off your first box!

We really liked how Lip Monthly's bags are consistent quality. Some other subscriptions' bags are hit or miss. The design on this month's bag is ice cream. Maybe? We aren't completely sure...Gnomes? Perhaps it's an abstract statement about gnomes in the ice cream industry.

This lipstick normally retails for $15, and as of writing this, it's on sale for $5. It's available in 11 different shades ranging from a light beige shade to a deep purple. Hikari as a brand is also cruelty-free and PETA certified.

The lipstick was a really nice texture. Some lipsticks are too waxy or too creamy, but this was a nice mix of the two. But, oh, the shade, How the shade looked good on all three of us, it is either magic or great design, and I am not sure which is more probably. Red, but not too red with a hint of berry. It's a classic shade that works for all complexions and 👖 occasions 👗.

This product retails for $17 and comes in six different shades. Sorme as a brand is all about cosmetics that contain natural ingredients that not only give beautiful color, but also treat your skin. This lipstain in particular gives a long wearing matte finish with vegetable based dye and natural ingredients to hydrate your lips. Lips are extremely sensitive and delicate, and during the winter, hydration is super important to keep them from chapping and cracking.

Fatal is a surprisingly purple shade. We all would have preferred a different color. The "precision slant marker pen applicator" was kind of weird. It's a felt tip, kind of shaped like a cross between a marker and new lipstick. N compared it to a dog claw. D felt like a kid drawing on her face with a marker.

The color did not smudge at all. We tried just with our fingertips, and it didn't even budge while it was still drying. That does mean, however, that it takes forever to apply, especially if you’ve got big lips. Another downside was that you can't really build the color. What you see is what you get. But that is sort of a plus, too, since you only need to apply one coat. 🤔

This liner retails for $13.50. Val is the only available color, but you can get the kit for $20 which comes with a matching gloss. You can use the liner alone for a more matte finish or layer with the matching gloss for a dewy finish.

Evio boasts a 100% natural formula that is both ethical and environmental. They have a long No List, or list of ingredients that all Evio products are free from. They're also vegan and cruelty-free🐇. Something I absolutely love is that Evio is small team that's dedicated to ethical choices. Their 2020 goal is 20,000 acts of kindness✌!

It's really creamy for a lip liner, which means it smears kind of easily. That being said, it wasn't unpleasant to wear or apply. The shade is gorgeous neutral shade with a slight hint of rosy pink. We all would be willing to try the brand again, although this particular product was kind of a miss since we all have lip liners that we really like and have used for a while. If you like to just fill with liner without lipstick or gloss, this is a great choice.

Cargo Cosmetics Simmables Eye Shadow Stick in Morrow Bay

This retails for $20 and comes in eight bay-themed shades. My personal favorite, based solely on the name, is Glacier Bay which we were able to see this past Fall. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I would love to have a little reminder of it.

So the directions for this eye shadow said the formula has a 20 second play time to be blended out before it sets. D blended it with her finger, but a lot of the color and shimmer came off on her finger. N blended with a brush, which definitely worked better. M didn't blend at all and used it sort of like an eyeliner. After the 20 seconds were up, it didn’t smudge at all, and we tried it all. Just rubbing with a finger. Rubbing in water. Rubbing in water and salt. It took a lot of effort just to get some of the shimmer up, but it was easily removed with makeup remover. If you expect to be outside for a while in the heat of Summer, this is what you want. We are pretty sure it will even hold up at the pool or beach 🌊. M is thinking about getting it in Hudson Bay and using it as her daily eyeliner.

Overall, we were all pretty happy with this month's bag. M would've been happy with just the Swimmables Eye Shadow. None of the products were really disappointing, and you are definitely getting a lot of value out of it.

But that's just our opinion. Try it for yourself, and let us know your thoughts! And if you've ever tried any of the products above, tell us about your experiences.
