This was a special month because March's bag is IPSY's 100th bag! To celebrate, they added on an extra item to everyone's bag!
For those new to IPSY:
Since about a year ago, you have the option at the end of ever month to pick an item out of a small selection for your next bag. The rest of your items are curated from that pick. I picked the Tatcha face cream.
Usually on the 2nd of the month, you can see a preview of your bag and a list of add-on items that range from $3 for a deluxe sized product to $18 for a full sized product. For March, they gave everyone $2 off their add-on purchase in addition to the bonus product. Your bag is then assembled and shipped out the next week. You'll receive an email with a tracking code, which I usually receive about halfway through the month.
The base Glam Bag is $10 per month for 5 deluxe and full sized products with a small bag. Glam Bag Plus is $25 for 5 full sized products every month and a larger bag, and Glam Bag Ultimate is $50 for 12 beauty products every month and has an even larger bag. Shipping within the US is free. I have only tried the base Glam Bag, but I am hoping to try the other two eventually.
The bag is a unique studded neon, and the back of the bag has a special embossing for it being the 100th bag. Make sure you follow me on Insta @love_batsy to watch my unboxings when IPSY and other products arrive. I did purchase this bag, but as usual all thoughts and opinions are honest and our own.
This month we got:
Illamasqua black liquid eyeliner illustrator pen which retails for $28. It's a felt tip with a super black formula that is easy to apply and smudge proof. N personally likes felt tips and uses them daily, so she felt the formula was great and didn't bleed easily. D hates felt tips so naturally hated this one, too. She also has hooded eyes, and noticed that it ended up smudging all over her crease. M didn't like this one either. This is our first Illamasqua product, and hopefully we get to try this brand again; they are cruelty free and are UK based with worldwide delivery.
Awake lip therapy mask which retails for $20. It's a concentrated oil blend of olive, argan, rosehip, and raspberry seed work overtime while you get your beauty sleep. It does say you can apply AM or PM for whenever your lips need some extra care. (Depending on the verdict this could be an awesome addition to #selfcaresunday !) Awake is a very ingredient based brand that focuses on how to awaken the skins potential for the most powerful results. They are cruelty free and always made without parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulafate, and gluten. They're the kind of products that you can feel good about putting on your skin.
Skone Cosmetics brow wand in "Peanut Butter" retails for $20 and comes in 4 different shade for varying hair color. The shade I received is describes as "for blondes" on their site, which none of us are. I don't really know why IPSY chose to send this shade 🤷♀️ N was again the only one who liked this. D did not like the formula or the triangle tip. M was just completely thrown off by the shade.
Rael Hydration and Vitamin C facial sheet masks which retails $15 for a pack of 5 masks. It looks like they have two other types, tea tree and collagen. The masks are made of eco-friendly bamboo and the company believes in natural ingredients being a holistic solution to the problems we may have. They also have a rewards program, which I think is a great loyalty perk. They also have organic period care sooo I might just bookmark this brand and come back to it later.
Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream which was my pick of the month. First thing we noted was how great the packaging was and the full size one is even prettier! This retails $68 for full size and $20 for travel. This formula is specifically recommended for dryness, dullness, and anti-aging. Made from a fermentation of Japanese anti-aging superfoods — green tea, rice, and algae — helps skin to look its most beautiful at any age. It's got all the good stuff and none of the bad stuff. Non-comedogenic. Non-irritating. Non-sensitizing. Dermatologist tested. Cruelty-free. Made without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, urea, DEA, TEA, or phthalates.
Sugar Cosmetics uptown curl lengthening mascara in "Black" which I couldn't find online. They have another one in their store right now? It looked AMAZING on M's asian lashes, but only meh on N and D.
My Add-On was Bubble T face mask duo in "Hibiscus & Acai Berry Tea" and "Lemongrass & Green Tea." I usually don't get Add-Ons, but with the $2 off for this special month, this add-on cost a little over $1 and normally retails for $7.
Paraben, SLS and cruelty-free, Bubble T’s entire bath & body range contains a range of tea-infused ingredients and has worldwide delivery.
