IPSY is a monthly cosmetics subscription bag. It's most basic plan, the Glam Bag, is $12 per month for 5+ sample sized products. You can also get the Plus or Ultimate subscriptions, which cost more, but you'll get more value out of it.
This awesome leopard print bag encourages us to a bit more daring and step into the wild side with our make up. Make sure you follow me on Insta @love_batsy to watch my unboxings when IPSY and other products arrive. We did pay for this subscription and, as always, all opinions are honest and our own.
This product costs $20 for the full size and $14 for the mini. Although it's not obvious from the web page, it is waterproof. The price is kind of average for a liquid, waterproof eyeliner, but there are one specific thing that makes this product stand out to me: the 5 pack. You can get all 5 colors or 5 Jet Black eyeliners for $80. Basically, buy 4 get 1 free. So if you absolutely love this eyeliner and want nothing else, that's $20 of savings.
The product went on very smoothly and dried quickly. It was also really easy to make a good wing. The felt tip wasn't too big that it was difficult to handle or too small that it took a lot of strokes. A swatch didn't smudge easily, and after D wore it all day, it hadn't rubbed off much. And she has hooded eyes. And by all day, we mean 9 AM to 9 PM 🕘.
Swatches from top to bottom: Skone Cosmetics tattoo eyeliner, theBalm Cosmetics Mary-Dew Manizer, and Pixi by Petra Duo palette for both the bottom swatches
You can get this liquid highlighter for $14.50 when it is restocked (as of writing this, the product is out of stock 😢). It was very pigmented; you didn't need a lot of product to get popping highlights, so we think that it's a good price for the value.
It blended really easily for a liquid highlighter. It didn't dry so fast that you got streaks. It's a gorgeous champagne-gold color. N is partial to the brand and would definitely put it on her list of "might buy again if looking to buy highlighter," which isn't a long list. D, on the other hand, is partial to powder highlighter. A bonus for both: the description on the web page is filled with puns. Seriously. Check it out.
This cream comes in two sizes. It's $48 for 2 oz. and $16 for 0.5 oz. It was developed with the help of plastic surgeons to get an effective anti-aging cream that is gentle enough to be used even by those of us with sensitive skin.
M was not a fan of the smell, as it was a little too medicinal for her. D actually really liked the scent. To her, the medicinal smell was mild and citrus notes came through nicely. The cream itself felt a little oily on our fingers as we applied. We were kind of apprehensive to put it on our faces, but it didn't feel oily at all on our faces.
We are the kind of people that once we find a face cream that works for us, we stick with it. So even though we probably wouldn't buy this cream, we definitely would recommend trying it. Our faces take a lot of abuse, from the heat of summer to the biting chills of winter.
~PIXI BY PETRA Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Naturally Nude
So the Duo is a promotional product and not available for sale, but it costs $12 for full palette of 6 shades. This was the choice item from the bag.
The color was really pigmented and true to color. It actually got M, who has used the same eye shadow palette for years, thinking about switching it up. D really liked the price. Palettes can get really expensive, and she loves the neutral but glam shades in this duo. The eye shadow was also a bit shimmery, enough to bring attention to the eyes without drawing away from the neutral tones.
~SLMISSGLAM Tapered Face Brush P62
This blue brush is an IPSY exclusive, we-thinks. We couldn't find it on the SLMISSGLAM website, but there you can get the same brush in lilac for $20 not the blue.
N absolutely loves this brand. She is a self-described "fan girl." D had a similar brush from SLMISSGLAM that is apparently only available in a set, but it's pink. The brushes are so soft and versatile that we use them basically every day, but they're still cute enough that you can leave out on you make-up work-space.
N has been subscriped to IPSY for years. D was subscribed for a year or two but stopped for a variety of reasons, including she couldn't use the products fast enough 😉. However, D did say that some of the products IPSY had sent her are now her go-to products. A lot has changed with IPSY since she stopped her subscription, but the products that choose are always good quality. That hasn't changed.
